Hello, my friends! It's Sadie McAfee here, coming to you from my cozy Austin apartment, on a chilly December evening, my mind still buzzing with triumph. I've just accomplished something that I never thought I could – I've solved a Rubik's cube! Yes, you heard it right. After weeks of twisting, turning, and a good deal of swearing, I have finally cracked the code of this little cube of chaos. And, as unexpected as it may sound, this journey has taught me a thing or two about persistence, patience, and most importantly – about myself.
I am not a puzzle person per se. I love a good challenge, but my usual battles are fought at the comedy club, the gym, or sometimes even under the hood of my beloved 4Runner. Yet, there was something about the Rubik's cube that intrigued me. Maybe it was its simplicity, yet the complexity it held within. It was like a stand-up gig that no one laughed at – frustrating, yet fascinating.
My journey began with a simple Google search on how to solve a Rubik's cube. I spent hours pouring over algorithms, strategies, and even history. I found myself engrossed in a world that I had never explored before – a world of geometry, patterns, and logic. It was like learning a new language, one that was spoken through the movement of colors and shapes.
But, as with learning anything new, the path was not smooth. There were days when I felt like hurling the cube across the room and never looking at it again. But then, I would remind myself of something Eddie Izzard once said: "No matter how hard the journey may be, remember, you're still moving forward." And so, I kept going.
The moment the last piece clicked into place, I felt a surge of triumph that was as exhilarating as nailing a punchline on stage. But more than that, I felt a sense of accomplishment. I had proved myself wrong. I had pushed my boundaries and discovered a side of me that I never knew existed.
The Rubik's cube taught me that persistence and patience can unravel even the most complex problems. It taught me to take one step at a time, to focus on the small victories, and to never give up, no matter how daunting the task may seem. These are lessons I will carry with me in every aspect of my life, from my work as an accountant to my passion for stand-up comedy.
So, here's the funny thing, I always thought I was not the type of person who could solve a Rubik's cube. But guess what? I just did. So, I guess I was wrong about myself. And that, my friends, is the most valuable lesson of all.
